Rolling Loud Festival Attendee Pronounced Dead After Brutal Attack

A Rolling Loud Festival attendee was brutally assaulted while attending the show in Los Angeles. Now police are investigating the incident after his death.

Kalvin Sanchez, a 23-year-old father two, was assaulted during the December 14 show at Banc California Stadium. Sanchez suffered a serious head injury during the altercation, requiring medical attention. He was rushed to Dignity Health-California Hospital Medical Center. He passed away just four days later on December 18. 

The Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office conducted an autopsy on the body. They determined he died a ‘subdural hematoma and blunt force head trauma.’ The coroner’s fice deemed the death a homicide. 

Sanchez’s family is now left to deal with the aftermath. The assault and why it happened are currently under investigation. The Los Angeles police have not identified any suspects in connection with the assault. Cell phone footage several fights that broke out was uploaded to social media. 

The organizers the Rolling Loud Festival expressed their condolences for Sanchez’s family. He leaves behind a 3-year-old daughter and a 2-month-old son. 

“We extend our deepest condolences to the family and friends Kalvin, who passed away last week. Our fans are part our extended family and their health and safety is our number one priority. The incident is under active investigation by both LAPD and CHP and, as such, we are unable to comment further.”

Sanchez’s family has set up a GoFundMe page to help cover funeral expenses. The victim’s uncle says the family is just trying to keep themselves together in the face such a tragedy. 

Several fights broke out during the performance, though none resulted in death. Lil’ Wayne made headlines back in May when he refused to play in Miami. That was because mandatory police checks. Even with those mandatory police checks, people are still getting beat to death while trying to enjoy music.
