Fyre Festival Founder Billy McFarland Sentenced to six Years In Federal Prison

Despite prosecutors’ pleas, Billy McFarland has solely obtained six years in jail.  Meanwhile, co-conspirator Ja Rule is going through a $100 million class-action lawsuit filed towards him.

US District Court Judge Naomi Buchwald has sentenced Fyre Festival co-founder and entrepreneur Billy McFarland to jail.

McFarland was convicted a number of counts fraud, together with duping buyers into pouring cash into the failed luxurious music competition.

Speaking in a New York federal courtroom, McFarland advised his household and victims,

The entrepreneur reportedly mentioned “I’m sorry” a number of occasions, begging Judge Buchwald for a lighter sentence.  McFarland claimed he had been the sufferer violence in jail.

Vowing to turn out to be a greater particular person, he defined,

Prosecutors had urged Judge Buchwald to condemn McFarland to 15-20 years in jail.
